Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director has spent most of her career working with prominent directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford has been involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production is produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main characters in the first impeachment trial in the United States in more than 100 years. In two seasons, Ashford was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford now splits her time between Los Angeles and New York.
